Faith to Action Network and other partners will join a webinar hosted by the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) Faith Subcommittee, on exploring how data and ongoing learning can strengthen faith-based sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and family planning programmes.
The conversation will bring together organisations working across Kenya and Nigeria to share practical experiences of using different forms of data across the programme cycle — from design and implementation to monitoring, adaptation and evaluation.
For Faith to Action Network, the conversation comes at an important time as faith networks continue to explore how evidence, community knowledge and the influence of faith actors can contribute to better family health and wellbeing outcomes.
The discussion will provide an opportunity to reflect on how evidence can support faith actors to better understand the realities facing their communities, adapt interventions and strengthen their contribution to positive health and social outcomes.
It also creates space for an important question for the wider faith community: How can we ensure that data is not simply something programmes collect, but something communities and faith leaders can use to make better decisions?

The webinar will highlight how partners working to shift gender norms and improve SRH outcomes for girls and young women in Kenya and Nigeria are using data in practical ways across the program cycle. The discussion will focus on how different forms of evidence can help partners understand community context, track exposure to program messages, monitor changes in norms and trust, and assess how intentions and behaviors vary across geographies and change over time.
The Kenya and Nigeria examples will show how program data, implementation learning, and population-scale community datacan complement one another. Together, these forms of evidence can help programs target more effectively, adapt in real time, understand where progress is emerging, and identify where setbacks or resistance may be occurring.
