Announcement – Call for Proposals
Faith to Action Network, Council of Anglican Provinces of Africa, African Council of Religious Leaders – Religions for Peace and All African Conference of Churches call upon their member organisations to submit proposals for funding.
When faith organisations join hands, they can exert powerful influence on leaders and communities for greater pluralism, diversity and peace. The “Communities Richer in Diversity (CRID)” call for proposal leverages this influence to promote cultural diversity and respect for equal dignity of all men and women in Burundi and South Sudan through interfaith and intercultural dialogue and cooperation.
The objective of this call for proposals is to support local interfaith and intercultural initiatives in Burundi and South Sudan to promote pluralism and intercultural understanding, with a focus on fighting extremism and radicalisation. Supported initiatives must primarily focus on young people, be gender-transformative, and be implemented at community level. They must show their relation with national policy/ies and their sustainability.
Eligible applicants are legal persons and non-profit-making and established in Burundi and/or South Sudan. They must be a member organisation of Council of Anglican Provinces of Africa, Faith to Action Network, African Council of Religious Leaders – Religions for Peace and/or All Africa Conference of Churches, with a preference of youth- and women led organisations. The expected results are: Enhanced knowledge of different faiths/cultures; Increased interfaith/cultural understanding; Reduced ethnic, faith and gender prejudices; Reduced conflicts; Reduced extremism.
This call for proposals opens on 09 April 2018 by 18:00 hrs East African Time.
Deadline for submission of concept notes: 22 June 2018 by 18:00 hrs East African Time.
Funding: The call for proposals offers small grants of up to 45,000 € and microgrants of up to 3,000 €.
